Sault Ste. Marie,
I'm a newbie to the DSM world. I have never had a turbocharged car before and am not sure if my wastegate is actuating properly.
I have a 92 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo
I am getting lots of boost, and the car seems to be running pretty good. What concerns me though is that there is a rod that runs from the wastegate to a pivot point on the exhaust manifold. That rod does not move at all. It seems as if it is seized. I asked my automotive teacher about this, and he thought that the rod should move to actuate the wastegate.
Is there anyone who know if this is a common problem. Is the wastegate bad? If so, what is a good aftermarket wastegate that doesn't cost a ton of money.
Thanks a lot
