Well it seems my tranny crapped out on me today. Either that or the axel but more likely the tranny.
Problem:
I was parked with some friends no problems with any vibrations/noise/loss of power.
We go to leave to goto the track and run and as I pull off I hear a slight grinding noise coming from the driver's side. I have a 95 Eagle Talon TSI FWD Automatic. I turn off the radio and heater and listen more closely as I accelerate up a hill the noise starts kicking in at about 2000 rpm. If I accelerate lightly on a flat road no noise. If I am on a hill LOTS of noise. Still, no loss of power just a horrible grinding noise as if my axel if spinning free or my gears are grinding. If the accelerator is pressed with any kind of force it grinds. As I was heading home after having to cancel my races for the day I'm driving down a flat road being very gental and I hear a piece of metal come lose and rattle down and out of my car, dinging off of anything and everything. Couldn't find the piece of metal that came off when I went back. Car is parked right now and all shops are closed so I can't get it on a lift and look at it.
Does anyone have any advice, suggestions, anything they could offer? Place to buy a new tranny or axel or whatever the problem is? Cheap but reliable.
Thanks for y'alls help
