I recently did a boost leak test on the intake of the turbo to see if I had some unknown leaks. Come to find out, I had a couple of small leaks around my vac lines to mbc, bov flange, and my injectors. Also I could hear a noticable hissing sound between my block and my turbo. I tried to spray some soap and water to see if I could make out a leak but I couldn't. I thought it might be a headgasket failure, so I did a compression check. Comes out to be 124,120,121,125 with the car cold. (I didn't know the car had to be at normal temperatures, could this be the numbers were low?) I searched for symptoms for headgasket failure and everywhere I looked at it was oil in coolant, or coolant in oil, overheating, compression test with a noticable drop in one cyclinder, rough idling, smoke coming out of exhaust. But my car has none of those symptoms. Could the compressor housing on my turbo be leaking, A couple days before I did the leak test, I changed my exhaust manifold. I notice the turbo side facing the block it had a black stain on the the compressor, and below the head the block was covered in old dirt and oil that I taught was caused by a bolt that decided to come out from my stock oil cooler. :thumbdown If anyone could give me any ideas I would appreciate it.

Car mods are in my profile, car has 107,000 miles on, running 9psi

sounds like you have an exhaust leak between the manifold and the head. Did you put a new gasket on when you replaced the manifold?

Yes everything is brand new. I even retighten them after they broke in. I didn't know a exhaust leak would cause a boost leak problem, I thought a boost leak test would determine if you had a leak between the turbo all the way down to your head?

my bad then...must have misread your post. Anway, it is possible for the compressor housing to leak if its not seated properly. What kind of turbo did you put on?
