I was waiting at a stop light and smoke started pouring out of exhaust. White smoke. I pull over, no coolant. I fill it up, let it idle, make my smoke show etc. I get it towed home, check compression and its 160-165-160-170. 4th plug had some oil on it when i pulled it out.

At first i was convinced I had blown my head gasket but now I'm not sure. How else could I lose water and have it come out of exhaust.

Never overheated.

Turbo is oil cooled.

Your original post indicated you added coolant, but now say it never overheated. Was it a lot or just a little coolant.

Why isn't it your turbo seal that let go?? If it continues to smoke check with your hand at the exhaust and then smell, feel and taste. Antifreeze will taste sweet and oil will taste like yuck.

Your compression is good so that's in your favor but not absolute.

Cheers,
GTM
