I recently removed the cruise control from my 1990 talon. I bought a used throttle cable from a 1.8 but when i installed it their was too much slack in the cable, so i bought a cruise controll elimination throttle cable from a vender and it is too long also, by about 2 inches. I have no idea why... is it just my car or what?

When I eliminated my CC I just used a non-cruise cable and everything worked fine. Only thing I can think of is that your car is a 90, but that shouldnt even matter IMO. Are you sure your installing it right?

ya i installed it right, thiers not really much you can mess up on the install...

How did you route the cable? My 90 install went well without any problems. If it's only 2 inches too long, you should be able to push the slag some where else. Post pics if you can.

If you're running about of room using the adjustment bracket, maybe you'll need to shim it with a metal collar between the ball and the collar on the gas pedal. Like you said, there's not much you can mess up on the install.

The length of the cable should'nt matter as long as the sheath has the metal bushing at the end of the cable where it attaches to the throddle body.
