RPM's go to 5K when I start my car, and when up shifting.

When i start my car the idle will go to 5K and drop, When i go to up shift it will go to like 4k and sit there until I get into the next gear, Idles like shit,sounds like a race car with a huge cam, it just sounds like its missing real bad. Anyone have any idea's

isn't there a checklist for stuff like this somewhere?

-check plugs and wires
-check for boost leaks
-etc etc

and in your case i'd say check to see if your throttle cable is sticking or stuck

see its not like its spark plugs or a boost leak.

the shop said they replaced the egr valve, throttle body, and tps.

pcv valve? also check for vacume leaks as well as the others that are mentioned
