Allright this is got me stumped and angered to the highest degree. I have a 94 eagle talon tsi awd automatice and well it refuses to run for more then a week and I have only had it 5 weeks. I am pissed to say the least. I have replaced so much crap on this car and it is still sitting in my drive way. So here is my latest puzzlement. It has jumped timing three times. THREE TIMES!! Ive replaced the timing belt, Ive replaced the tensioner and on top of that is a rebuilt motor with 2000 miles on it. Three times I have gone to start it up and it cranks, fires once, and dies. All it will do after that is crank over. I have spark, I have fuel, everything. I pull the timing apart and guess what? Its one tooth off on the crank. Compression is 110 across the board everytime. Put it back together and its a perfect 155 everytime. Its done this three times and I don't have time to keep doing this. What the heck is wrong with this car?? My only theory is there seems to be a oddball set of injectors on it. I have two blue tops, a short black top with a black connector and one tall black one with a orange connector. COuld it be possible that at startup the injectors fire at different rates and cause the clylinders to fire abnormally from one another and stress the crank off the cams?? thats the only thing I can think of. Help please im going to kill someone if i don't figure this out.

Thanks
Jason

Have someone else adjust the tension on the belt. Since you have failed 3 times now you need another set of eyes.
These cars will run on two cyls so your speculation of mismatched injectors causing the belt to jump seems far fetched. I'd put my money on either a bad part, like the tensioner, or a bad install.

You do need to clean up your injector problem. I've never heard of a short black top and a long one. You sure your not missing pieces.

Mixing 1g and 2g injectors isn't a great idea, they are both 450s but they behave different partually due to the dual spray pintle cap on the 2g injectors.

I didn't do the timing three times. It was done when i got it, dine by a mechanic, then done by me. this time I but a mitsu tensioner on it and got it as tight as i could. as far as the injectors go its possible I am missing parts. I have to busy keeping hte timing intact to worry about pulling the fuel rail. any other suggestions please thanks

I know how to do a timing belt. Im not some stupid kid with a crappy dsm. This is my third dsm in which I have had to do the timing on. The first one I sold. The second one is my little brothers car and he has driven it for a year and no problems. And the third is my current dilema. If i had questions about how to do the timing I would ask but I don't. Im doing it right and its not working so something else is wrong. I need others opinions as to what is wrong BESIDES me. Sorry for being harsh but I know my way around a wrench so please if you have any other suggestions they are welcome
