What does this tube do?

There is a small tube on the left side of my valve cover that goes back into my airflow just before it reaches the turbo. Can someone tell me what this is and what it does? Its covered in oil on the airflow side and its loose enough to come off by hand. I'm going to clamp it down tomaro, could this be causing my car to studder and misfire?

ok i figured out from Chiltons it was a breather hose just as you posted that. i'll have to get one and install it and hope that helps.
