mid rpm shake in all gears

i just got a 95 gst and on the ride home i had mid rpm shake in all the gears.... the car would start to hesitate in the mid rpm range anyone got any ideas on what this could be from.... the car has 108,000 on the engine could it be the turbo is about to go/?????? im new at turbo engines so i have no idea

probably plugs or wires. I would change both. Actually just do a whole tune up.Plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter. Only other thing is to check for boost leaks.

Rear balance shaft 180° out-of-phase. Thank the last chimp who worked on it.

A dying turbo doesn't spin enough mass to shake an engine.

took the car to 2 different shops today and neither of them could help me out but they only gave it a quick look over.... i checked for loose hoses and everything i was told and still no clue

Unfortunately most shops WON'T be able to diagnose that particular problem unless someone works there that really knows DSMs. Especially if it is something like the balance shaft. Chances are, you'll send it in. When they're done looking around at it, you'll get the "we changed your spark plugs and wires. Here's your $300 bill. Sorry but we couldn't locate the problem".
Just as a new idea check your engine mounts. If it's in all RPMs, especially idle, it's not your problem. I'm with Defiant on the balance shafts.

the idle is fine.... if i push the pedle a 1/4 of the way i can go through all the gears fine it is just when i try to get on it it hesitates really bad

you have a dirty fuel filter., or non-maintained spark plugs.

Check the filter first.

my plugs are good... i got a appointment for monday at a place called turbotrix in edison nj they only do dsm cars so if i cant get it fixed by then im gonna have to pay so ill check tommorrow i hope its something simple

all of the sudden the check engine light came on and now the car feels like it is gonna stall out while it is idleing..... i change the positve connector to the battery to the battery because it was loose and someone told me that could be the problem now, the connection is good..... anyone got any clue to what this could be ?? i still got the shakes too....

First step now is the check engine light, but it could be coming on because it is getting bad readings from whatever is causing the shakes.
Is the idle steady?
Defiant knows his stuff, so I'll stick by what he says.

its fixed it was the spark plug wires
