I think I have a detonation problem. When I drive my car, go through 1st gear fine take it to about 6000 or so, shift to second hit 4500, here a loud Bang (like a hammer), and the RPMs back off.

I read a thread I found on here about Prei-gnition and Detonation. I seams like it is detonating. "... an engine running at full throttle may be happy due to a rich WOT air/fuel ratio. Throttling back to part throttle the mixture may be leaner and detonation may now occur... ."

My I don't know why it would do this. I just recently installed an EVO III 16g, and it's only running at 10psi, so I don't think the injectors would be running at max.

Here are a few things I've noticed:
Boost is @ 10psi
Air/Fuel Gauge Reads rich at WOT (I didn't get a look at it when i heard the noise)
CEL on (Due to TPS malfunction)

I think the TPS is telling the ECU my throttle is, we'll say 1/2 open, when it is WOT. Which would cause the mixture to be lean and cause it to detonate, I guess. Does the MAF sensor also have something to do with the amount of fuel being supplied?

If anyone had any idea what's wrong I would appreciate the help.

I was going to say the same. Are you sure you are not hitting fuel cut.

Are you running anything to delay or defeat fuel cut?

Sorry I forgot to say. I doesn't feel like fuel cut at all. Last time I hit cut it felt like I hit a brick wall head on, and it never made a loud Bang like this. This is more of the noise and it slows down, not as sudden of a stop as fuel cut. No, I do not have anything to stop fuel cut. I am only running 10psi, I read in a thread that boost has nothing to do with fuel cut, It's the quality of the air coming in? Last time it was on my t25 w/ the vacumme lines messed up and boost guage reading 25psi :| .

My car runs fine now. I had a few vaccume lines disconnect *slaps forehead*. The PCV valve to intake was off, but I don't think it would cause I problem. There was another on the intake that ran towards the firewall, not sure what it went too. The pressure line to my waste gate got caught in the fans and chewed up. The lower IC pipe was leaking. And last but not least, the vac line from the FPR(and boost gauge) to the intake manifold blew off, I have not idea how? I replaced some vac lines and the car runs fine now.

Still not sure if it was fuel cut.
