Boost leak From Turbo?

Alright i hook up my tester, and put some air in. the only place i hear a leak from is in the turbo area. Its not coming from the turbo to IC tube though. sound is coming right from turbo.. Is there a gasket in there? almost sounds like an exhaust manifold leak... does anyone have any ideas??

There is an O-ring that leaks. Im guessing its the stock 14b? Its a common leak. Look at the turbo rebuild on the vfaq, there is some info there. Run a search, i remeber a thread a long time ago about this subject.

I have this same problem - boost leak that appears to be internal to the turbo. I also appear to have some oil in the turbo housing and upper intercooler pipe. Is the leaking o-ring to blame for that too?

I looked at the Vfaq site, but I don't know if I want to do a full rebuild. How much does it cost to have a shop rebuild a turbo for you? How much is a rebuild kit and where can I find one?

Do I have to completely disassemble the turbo (like in the vfaq) to fix this, or just get the housing off - how involved is fixing the o-ring?

I had an issue that sounds similar to this, but it turned out that it was leaking at my turbo to manifold gasket. Make sure it's not there before you jump into a rebuild.
