Why is my Megan Racing DP leaking at the O2 flange?

ok, i had my Megan Racing downpipe installed and i am almost positive that it is leaking from where the O2 housing connects to the downpipe because the turbo is louder and VERY high pitched...the shop that installed it put the gasket on because i can see it...i am going to take it back to them sometime soon...is the gasket just bad or is the DP bad or what?? the gasket was brand new and the DP was also

Thanks :dsm:

Why dont you let your car run and get under the hood and rev it and put your hand down there, if you can feel air pulsing that's a good indication it's leaking. "It's leaking because it's loud" is not a very good assumption. You'd be surpirsed how much louder everything sounds with a full 3' or even 2.5 down there. Mine got alot louder and it isn't leaking. You'll be able to feel the air if it is.

First off, this downpipe is actually built quite well.

I ran into a problem with mine leaking, the pipe is so wide that the nuts will not screw on far enough. Icut some washers and used them as spacers. I had to modify(dent) the pipe a tiny bit also. Problem solved.

Also, the gasket is damn near to big for th o2 housing. Very little surface area actually seals.
