i've had this random starting issues for a few months now...there would be days where the car will start fine and then some days where it would be hard to start. on the times that it would be hard to start, all i would hear is 1 click when i turn the key and that's it. you don't hear the engine crank. eventually after like 5-15 tries of turning the key, the car would fire up with no problems. do u think it's a starter issue? i'm pretty sure it's not the battery as i changed it just a month ago and i've been having this problem even before the battery change. any help.

I've personally see it result from a couple of problems. On my dad's car it was a sign of the starter taking a crap, which was replaced to fix the problem. On my friend's GST, it was an issue with corrosion on the wiring at the + battery post (not visible just looking at it). After we cut and recrimped all of the wire to all new terminals (including battery terminals), and cleaned the battery post, everything was back to normal and better.
Also check the ground wiring on the starter. Sometimes this can corrode or become loose and cause problems.

i'll try some of the suggestions when the weather improves here in chicago...anyone else have any ideas

could be your balance shaft sencer. . .mine was doing the same thing cost me 700 becasue i busted something that hendle oil and then it got all over mine belts. So you should have it looked at soon because things like that only get worse.
