i recently recieved the autometer phanotm boost gauge and i hooked it up today but the gauge reads 0. i teed the hose into the hose that runs from the FPR to the manifold but the the gauge reads 0 while the stock gauge on the inside is showing pressure, help please i dont know what to do

it doesnt have vacuum reading, its jus a 0-35 psi gauge, i dont know what the problem is

Are you sure about that? I have Phantom and they read vacumm.

Why? A vacuum gauge is very very helpful in diagnosing a lot of problems.

If you blow in into the gauge, does it read the pressure from that?

If so, check to make sure you're lines aren't kinked.

Are you saying it idles or boosts at 0? Did you buy it used? maybe you have a bad gauge.

it idles at 0 and when it was in the garage and i would press on the gas, still reading 0..i dunno whats wrong

It shows 0 at idle because that's as low as it goes. You can't make your turbo spool free-reving it, unless you have ballbearing turbos, take it for a ride I think you're fine.

Not true. I can build 7 psi in neutral.

Hum I always thought you couldn't but I could be wrong. I will try it out as soon as I get my car off the jack stands. OMG

i jus took it around the block and the gauge works while under boost, so thank you for all of your help, i didnt realize that boost wouldnt necessarily build unless in gear, stupid me should have just taken it for a ride the first time, oh well better luck next time, now time to install the a/f gauge and the oil pressure gauge so if you guys have any tips and tricks for gettin those installed and working im up to suggestions and i gotta find a damn light source for all of them oh well thats not too hard, thanks for your help anyway :thumb:

You're welcome. :thumb: Check out vfaq, I think they got some write ups for the gauges.
