last night i was going to make a LEFT turn , put the car into first, made my LEFT turn and went to throw the car into 2nd and the shifter was stuck in first gear, the peddle would disengauge the clutch but i couldnt' get it out of first, then after a few tries and a few hundred feet down the road i got it to shift out of 1st and through the rest of the gears. I hasnt' happened again since, all shifting is smooth now. But i was wondering if this is what people mean when they say the clutch stuck while making a left hand turn as a sign of crankwalk?

Just for my knowledge, Im curious, does this symptom occur with an automatic too?

...how would an automatic's clutch fall to the floor? ;)
i posted the same thing but then i re-read it LOL doesnt say anything about the pedal sticking to the floor, just that he couldnt get it out of gear

Well, the same concept applies. Gear-changing in an automatic shouldn't be affected, since the crank moving isn't going to stop the torque converter from doing its job, allowing the car to shift.

But yeah, I kinda read between the lines on the OP I guess ;D

I highly doubt that it's crankwalk. I'd just say it's the tranny. How cold was it? Our trannys our known for difficult shifting in the cold. If it keeps it up throw some synchromesh in there. :dsm:

okay.. in all honesty.. ive been through and searched for HELLA posts tryin to find out EXACTLY wat crankwalk is. In NO posts are there any real detailed descriptions explaining what crankwalk is. WILL SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT IT IS EXACTLY? I know you guys are probably SICK of hearing this question.. but will someone answer it? I always see links and directions to other threads, but neither do those explain wat crank walk is. It makes me wonder, does anyone even know what crankwalk is? or is everyone trying to send people in different directions to get away from giving a CORRECT answer?

Im sorry to be such a punk, but i see alot of people gettin' flamed about askin' what crankwalk is. None of them get a good answer and they are left wonderin. Im in no way tryin to be a punk. I jess want to learn what the big deal is.
