O.k. I've had this car in my shop for two weeks now the car was kind of thrown into my lap but here's the deal. Car came in last week with a no start problem. The car kept blowing the main ECU fuse and I found out that the valves in the head were bent too. So I ripped the head off had it sent out and re-done. I have re-installed the head and went to go start the car but the car start. I hear a poping noise and smoke coming out of cycl. # 2 and #3 injector holes. Check timing... timing is dead perfect , checked compression to make sure I didn't mess anything up, compression is perfect , checked ALL the fuses. Fuses are good.

Checked for spark. the coil pack that controls cycl. # 1 and #4 is firing but the coil pack that controlls cyclinder #2 and #3 is not firing. Everything is getting power and everything is ground I've used a volt meter and traced almost every wire for the coil pack system everything is good I haven't found a break in the harness yet. The other strange thing is before it was blowing ecu fuses when the head had bent valves but now the fuses aren't blowing. but when I hook a scan tool up too it, the scan tool tells me it can't communicate with the ECU's I tried swaping ecu's still same problem. I'm to the point were if I missing something it's cause I'm looking to hard into it so I could use some outside advice. Most people say " it sounds like your timing is off " I'm telling you guys timing is perfect and if it wasn't perfect then the compression wouldn't be so good. I could use any ideas or help thank to anyone that can help me.

It's not firing up because your 2-3 isn't firing...so it has to be timing / spark related. Whats the condition of your cam/crank/CAS sensor(s)? What about the Power Transistor?

sort of sounds like a CAS issuse to me as well...is this a 1g or what?...do you have axcess to another CAS to try it out?

My guess would be your coil is bad. If you look closely the coil is divided into two halfs. #1 and #4 are on one half and #2 and #3 are on the other. It is entirely possible for only HALF the coil to go out. It has happend to me. I would try swaping in a different coil pack FIRST and then report back. :dsm:

sorry I should have included this the car is a 98' GS-T only mod's on the car is a intake and greddy type-s BOV not ran back into the intake. I have a 98' GS-X here also that runs and I've been swaping different sensors and such seeing if it fixes it and still not start. The only thing is that the ECU isn't communicating with the car which explains why the car won't start cause the ECU control's everything but I can't find a short in the harness and I've tried swaping ecu's and still same problem. Thanks guys for your help.

ok. I think I found the problem. It kept blowing ECU fuses under the hood before and now it doesn't do it. I talked to the guy who owns the car today and he told me he ran into a puddle and thats when the car shut off which would help explain the bent valves from before. Well I started checking ECU fuse wiring and when I pulled the ecu fuse the ecu still has 12v's going to the power wire at the ecu. If I pull the fuse it shouldn't be getting power correct ?

Also while I'm at it I finally got to move over to the other DSM here a 98' GSX. Car has a 3" cat back exhaust with what look's like a 2 1/2 or 2 3/34" down pipe. and a intake. The car keeps fouling out plugs. When I drive it boost pressure is at 15 PSI and holds fine in a 3rd gear pull. But once you hit about 5,000 RPM boost pressure stays steady but the car feels like it's having trouble reving high. Big time loss of power feeling. I'm a honda guy I own and have messes with honda's for awhile and I've done everything you could have to mine , it's been turbo'd , Super charged , different motor swaps and now is on nitrous so I'm not new to F/I or cars. I'm just new to DSM's. and to me I see this alot with stock turbo'd honda's the stock fuel pump and push out enough fuel in the top end or under heavy loads so the car struggles to rev. past 5,000RPM. Thats what it feels like to me that the car is hitting fuel cut or the ecu is cutting spark but there is no hesistation or bucking. the car just feels like is loosing power and struggles in top end. I'm new to DSM's so I appreciate all your guys help.
