car won't start on the 1st try...what is causing this

i have a 96 gs.
99% of the time my car won't start on the 1st try.i can turn it over for 10sec and it wont start,but i can turn the key off and back on and it'll start in the 1st few seconds.
this is aggrevating as hell.
does anybody know what could be causing this?
i would appreciate any help.

, I'm not sure what purpose showing the car has to do with it not starting but hey, always nice to post 2g pics It could be just a wearing coil pack. I would do the standard maintenence if it hasn't been done lately: spark plugs, spark plug wires, and fuel filter. All of these can cause dodgy startups. GL.

Have you changed the fuel pump? If so, my guess is you have messed up an O'ring and your fuel system pressure bleeds down when you shut it off. Check fuel pressure is my suggestion.

Yep sounds like lack of fuel pressure. Check FP and fuel pressure regulator.

i was just posting a pic of the car because i have never posted one of it yet.
i think the car has 2 fuel pumps.
my car use to be turbocharged but then we converted it back to stock after my sis's b/f slung a rod in the car.
it has a fused power wire leading to the fuel pump under the rear seat and a relay system hooked up to it.
when i put the fuse in it,the fuel pump gets real loud like its another fuel pump.but i just leave the fuse out of it.
could any of this have anything to do with it?

Just sounds like he rewired the fuel pump to me. Dont understand why it got any louder though. I do have this same situation with my 1g, and Im still trying to find the cause. Everything I have tried leads me to believe its my fuel pressure though.

I have this issue on my 1g, and I've replaced everything but the old walbro 255 fuel pump (injectors, fuel rail, increase/decreased fuel pressure, maf, vaccum lines). So like others have said, it very well could be the fuel pump itself. What kind of fuel pump is your car running? If it's a walbro, it's suppose to have a whine to it with the car on...

i had a similar problem on my 1G. I changed the fuel injectors and o-rings and blam! car starts up right away.
