When i push the gas pedal down, it feels like it just hits a brick, and becomes VERY hard to push down, until you reach that certain amount of force, then i breaks free, going to WOT. It is very hard to drive like this with no thottle control. I mean, after you get past that beginning point, you can control the throttle, but as soon as you let off the gas, you hit that one point, and you must re apply the force to push it back down. I have cruise control, and have already checked all the cables for any catches, and all the cables are fine, so its either in the cruise control unit, or the black spinning thing where all the cables go into. ANy help on this, i can't really drive my car like this. One more thing, my cruise no long works either, when i set it, it just falls down in speed, but i still can accelerate using the cruise feature, so about half of it works. Hope you can understand this. Thanks guys.

first check the padel and make sure the spring is ok. Then rotate the throttle lever on TB by hand to make sure it moves in a smooth motion.

My throttle body moves fine, the spring on the pedal its self is fine. I removed the main cable, and moved the pedal, the cable moves on the other side(like it should, but it does not return when i pull the pedal back, i don't think its supposed to though, since theirs no spring pressure on it. I also removed the throttle cable, and it moves fine. But when i hook everything up, there is a catch in it. Could a bad cruise motor(under the sprinning black thing), be the problem, i think thats the cruise motor? A dsm mechanic said that if i had a bad ground at some point, the engine would use the throttle cable as a ground, and i may be severed, or seize at some point. Everything is tight, so i don't have slack problems. I can't fricken drive my car like this, WOT is not good when its 10 below zero!

The cruise control may be the problem. I've read atleast one post where someone put a ding in theirs and they had a problem with throttle response.

I think i'm going to just get a non-cruise throttle cable, and rip all that cruise stuff out of the car. I'm just taking the easy way out this time, then i can see what is wrong with the cruise, in the warmth of the house, instead of in the garage, and still be able to drive my car.

Make sure the cable line is running back through the bracket correctly. There should be a dip on the copper bracket the line goes through so it's straight. I'm not sure if this is the same problem you are having but I couldn't get my car to really move because it was getting stuck on the side of the copper bracket that is attached to the spring. My idle was fine but the pedal pretty much mushed to the floor and stuck there when I pressed it in. I fixed it and my problem was solved!

Yeah, i was thinking last night, that when i re-built my throttle body, i may have not put the cable in the little groove, that would most likely cause my problem, since there was absolutly no problem before the change. It christmas though, so i'm waiting till sunday night to work on my car again.

Well, it was, now my throttle cable is a little wierd feeling, like i need to adjust where WOT is, cuz i can push my pedal half way down, and not get to much from it, its very responsive, just not adjusted right, that'll be monday morning. Off Thread Topic: Can you adjust the TPS with the car running, such as, start car, loosen screws on TPS, find the sweet spot where it idles right, tighten screws, be happy, LOL)??
