Just got done putting a 91 6bolt in my 97 GSX. I used the 1g head along with anything else that I thought would help. Now the problem is that when i give the car gas is backfires. It will do it 1-3 times when i rev it up to 3kRPM depending how i throttle the gas. But when i go to drive it. The backfiring is at low RPM's and the car just bogs down basicly. The timing is set at 5degs i belive. Car ideals fine besides the sticky TB. I only have 10HG vacume at ideal. I scaned the codes I got and all they were are EGR crap. I'm wondering what could cause this backfiring and lose of power.

Thanks.

Check the CAS wiring.

You did that right?

Sheilded wire preffered. Soldered. etc...

Check The CAS itself...I had one go bad.

it could also be 180 degrees out..

Check your base timing again...

Then look for vaccum leaks.
