ok the talon has to last me untill the snow goes away at least, and its been running ok untill yesterday.

I know these engines dont like cold so a few things that have started I didnt mind to much since they left when the car warmed up.

Things that happened when cold but eventually left were

- Some lifter tick, and another strange tick that I hear, its a bit louder and tends to happen more when I turn at all.
- When accelerating after like 2k or so the engine will reve but it wont even move, or it will sputter with power. My guess is the clutch is bad, more on this in a minute.
- Squeeking belts, very loud but it goes away fast. Either need new belts, tighten the belts, harmonic balancer, or its just fricken COLD
- Sometimes the clutch pedal gets very stiff, hard to push, slowly comes back after I take my foot off it. Wierd thing is when it does this my car feels faster, like its fully engaged, and the car doesnt do the wierd power loss when its still cold.

now on saturday I was driving and everything was great. Sunday the high for the day was 13 degrees, so it was killer out to say the least, especially with a lot of wind.

I go to drive home from my girlfriends house and the car starts to act up.

- Bowling sunday morning the car was fine except the clutch was really stiff again, it never did go away.
- going home at night the belts screeched, but went away shortly
- clutch was still very stiff
- I was noticing for a long time the car didnt want to show heat past about 1/4. the heating air was warm, but it took a lot longer then usuall it seemed to get hot. I said whatever and drove home casually as usual, I was getting close to home (after like 30 minutes of driving) and started to smell coolant. I wasnt sure if it was my car or the POS infront of me, I looked down at my temp gauge and it was above the redline. Saying oh shit to myself, not wanting to break down, I cranked on the heat full blast, took it really easy, rolled the window down a bit, and slowly made my way toward a safe place to get off the road. Before I got off the road I heard a quite loud cracking/breaking noise, sounded like ice breaking apart. My temperature starting dropping some, I wasnt sure if it was from the heat being on or what, then all of a sudden it shot down to normal temperature, and shortly after that my clutch pedal returned to feeling normal.
- My driver side windshield wiper no longer works
- My windshield washer fluid things no longer work
- my door panel speakers no longer work

Anyone ever run into something like this or have any idea wtf is going on? im pretty positive I could use a new clutch, since if I try to drag race it hardly grips (a stock n/t talon can keep right with me on take off LOL) and im thinking maybe a thermostat or something. I have a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water so it shouldnt be freezing in there.

Not sure what to think, all I know is it was extremely cold last night.

As far as the lifter tick it happens when its cold try to put some lucas in their that may help the dry startups. As far as the ticking when u turn could be your axle boots check those for rips. Clutch could be slipping or not disengaging all the way. If u smellt coolent and your car was overheating it was probably your car, check your coolent level, and your heater hoses, tsstat. thats all i can think of right now hope that helped a bit.
P.S 15 degrees isnt that cold, where i come from it get to over -40 degees celcius that kinda cold :p
