Valve knock??

this threads for a friend.. he has a 95 tsi awd, fpbt28, catback, 6bolt bottom w/2g head. tonight he was ridin around and all of a sudden got a pretty bad knock from his head. he had been running vented bov which of course is bad, but it only knocks from 2000-3000rpms. once it spools the sounds goes away, could he have jumped timing? dropped valve? its coming from #3 cyclinder.

o and the vid in the link you sent me is a little different, his car has a much slower paced knock and dissapears at any rpm above 3000- im diagnosing this from what i heard over the phone, i never actually got a chance to check the car out yet
