I just recently but my car back to stock (except for AFC, 720s) after having a MAFT hardwired to my stock MAF harness. I used this picture: http://www.dsm.sillymods.net/files/MAFWIRING.JPG

I had no problems wiring it up, all the colors transfered over fine. I went to start the car, it went to 3k RPM, then stalled out, as if the MAF was unplugged. I checked the MAF wiring and connections. They are all soldered and matched up according to the picture.

I unplugged the MAF and started the car. It idled fine.

My question is: What could possibly be wrong with my car to the point that HOOKING UP the MAF would cause the car not to run.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

something is shorting out in your wireing.. make sure you have the correct car as in gsx/tsi/gsx/gs ect ect in that picture there.. you may have something switched or wrong.. its probally a wire is grounding out tho..
