OIL leak.. surprise!

hey, i havent been on here for a year or so... and i know the common "SEARCH FOR IT" response... but just let me know if you have ideas on the following:

my car leaks oil pretty liberally somewhere on the right hand side of motor (if your facing the front of the car).. i cant tell exactly where its leaking from cause it gets all over everything and eventually drips off of a splash gaurd into a nice little puddle on the ground... has anyone else had this happen and know where the leak was?.. i originally thought it was my valve cover cause i found a small crack..it wasnt that..

probably front main seal or oil pump seal.

Yep. What he said ^^. Also, check for oil on the timing belt which USUALLY signifies crank seal. Other places that oil may be leaking from are the cam seals, and if your oil pan is not sealed completely.

Mine does the same thing right now but my timing belt is dry. I have oil all over the frame support below the timing belt side of the engine. Checking my oil level I lose about 1/4 quart per 500 miles so it doesnt concern me. I have done everything to find it including a blacklight and dye.

Best I can see is that it magically emerges from above the oil filter housing right where the front main seal is but the main seal is good I have replaced it twice already. I say let it leak until you cant take it anymore. It seems the more I try to find it the less I care. As long as my belts stay dry I dont really care.
