heres the deal, 5 days ago my egt gauge went dead. i checked everything, followed the wires to the gauge itself and found nothing to be out of place or wrong, so i pulled out the egt probe to clean it off. i went to the gauge and saw that it went back to zero instead of dead. Yes fixed or so i thought, i went to put the probe in the hole and screwed it in and looked at the gauge, and it was a dead needle. so i pulled the probe out again and it was working again. Weird, so whenever the probe touches the metal housing to hold the probe inplace the needle goes dead. to correct this problem i taped up the part of the probe that touches metal and screwed it in the hole and it worked so far but i'm worried about my temporary fix. does anyone have an idea as to why its doing this? If it helps at all its a autometer phantom gauge.
