Ok well this just started to happen recently and i can't figure it out. My idle gets really low somtimes especially when the car is reved up then put into neutral. About one out of ten times the car dies. It seemsto get worse when the lights are on but it's hard to tell. The car runs just fine for the first 10 minutes when it start it up then it gets really low. Most of the time it will justidle at below 600 and almost die but it won't. It's not until high revs when it just drops all the way. My voltage at night with the lights on when my foot is on the brake is at 11.6. Driving it is at 13.2-13.6 on average. I had my alternator tested by autozone and it's just fine. It has alittle lower amps that average but it's still good. My belt also likes to squeel at startup. I replaced all belts over a year ago and the alternator belt is tight as can be. I'm thinking it might be something else other than the alternator.

ive been having the same problem too. If im gettin on it real hard, and i push the clutch in, if i dont immediatly throw it into another gear, the rpms willl drop and the car will shut off.
i have a 98gsx, if it matters much.

My car has been running decent lately but just for sh!ts and giggles I did a boost leak test on it and found 4 leaks all of them on the intake manifold throttle body area. Dont know if this applys to you but it will defenitely improve your idle and throttle response if these are fixed. Sean

I don't know what it is. Mine doesn't die all the time but it will die some of the time. It might be a combination of a few things. I think my isc is bad unless my ecu is F%^&*#$. I''m also going to check for boost leaks.

ok well i think it's not the isc but instead my biss screw. I checked it today and it has no rubber cap on it and the screw is not tight but rather very loose. I guess it needs a new o ring. Anyways i'm going to the dealer tommorow to replace it. I read vfaq and it say you ned to ground two things but i also heard that if you have a datalogger hooked up that you don't need to ground them while adjusting the biss.

if you have more problems when your lights are on, or if you are using your brakes your alternator is probably going bad. I know on my talon(RIP) mine would die if the lights were on and i was taking a sharp turn. Eventually your battery will die completly. So before you need to replace 2 things get a new alternator
