tryin to rebuild engine?

i have a 1991 gsx, with a han full of mods, you've probably seen me up here a couple days ago, about piston rings, but now i need some help on rebuilding my engine. i think all i needed was piston rings, but since they have to rip it open, might as well just replce the old stuff. so i found a re ring kit, which includes all gaskets, main and rod bearing, and piston rings, and thrust washers if applicable. now i just want to replace the piston and piston ring with je or wiesco buit i cant find a site to look for it. i also need to find the lowest price for these performance piston and rings.(dont have a lot of mioney) if someone can give me some insight, on this,or if they have a better solution in solving this problem.

ps:i push black and a lil blu smoke and just a lil bit of white smoke out my ass. when i really push the throttle down and start boostin. i only boost 9lbs. and i mean u can see the smoke its bluish/ black and a lil whit afetr i let of the pedal.

Whats a thrust washer? Do you mean thrust bearings? Those come with the main bearing set.

Try Bushurracing.com for the Wiseco pistons...they are $350 for pistons and rings. Cheapest I've seen with a CR of either 8:1 or 9:1. I haven't shopped around for stock pistons, but if your cylinders don't need to be bored out, you could just upgrade to 2g pistons for fairly cheap.

Black smoke means you are running a bit rich, and some of it is just the turbo blowing soot and stuff that accumulates in your exhaust. As for the white/blue smoke, that would be coolant and oil...probably a headgasket, but if you are rebuilding the motor, you will be replacing the gasket and resurfacing the head/block.

just buy a topline rebuild kit. send all your stuff to a GOOD and i emphasize good machine shop and have them deck the block and do all the normal machine work. then get some dsm friends who know what they are doing and rebuild the block, install it break it in and then pound on it..


the topline kit can be had from slowboy raceing or any number of places..
