Hey guys. I installed the Balance shaft elimantor kit in my car. First time i ran, the plug fell out using RTV around the lip. Second time after we added JB weld to the plug and it held fine until yesterday when we installed my Manual Boost Controller and turned the boost up to about 15 psi. Fell out again, nasty oil leak. Luckily when i ordered the kit they sent me 2 kits. So i have a fresh rubber plug waiting to be installed. We think it might be shooting out because of a bad PCV valve causing excessive pressure behind it. In every post about the rubber plug everyone says that it is only supposed to have a little JB WELD or RTV, a bead around it. Just to show you how much pressure it's getting we, put alot of JB weld on last time to hold it shut....


If anyones got any idea's, input, itd be grateful. thnx

Good idea about the PCV, get a new one and install the bronze/black urethane plug with the bronze side facing into the motor.
Put a little bit of JB Weld on the outer lip of the plug and push it in.
Your engine is in your car right, then the worst part about it is you can't
really put anything on it to hold it in while the JB Weld cures.
 
We checked the PCV valve, it seemed to be fine. JB Welded it shit REALLY GOOD this time, inside around the lip, and out. Im going to let it dry and hopefully this wont happen again. I just wish i knew why it happened twice already.... i wish i knew where this excess pressure was coming from
