Alright check this out i'm about to get a 95 GST. But the thing is that it a a 2.4 block off of a 1990 Hyndai Sonata. it is hybrid as hell. But the car dosent start. The old 2.0 was blown due to crankwalk, but everything has been replaced except the crankshaft sensor! I have talked to some people and they think that it is just the sensor and i really want this car because it has a lot of mods. Please tell me if there is anything else it could be. Oh and it does have compression

2.4L blocks are fairly common upgrades for DSMs. It involves some rewiring and work, but the 4G63 DOHC head will bolt onto the 2.4L 4G64....

Without looking at the car, though, we can't help you much. I suggest you find a DSM-guru friend to go look at it with you.

A bunch of things come to mind. Let's start with the easy stuff first.

1) If you want help, please spend a few more minutes proof-reading your posts.
2) It doesn't need to be bold to gain attention. The gross misspellings do that enough.
3) This is a problem diagnosis issue, not an "Extreme Tuner" issue.
4) So the old engine "blew" due to "crankwalk" which means the crank sensor died as the crank wacked the trigger plate into the sensor. Yet it wasn't replaced?
5) How exactly is the engine getting a Cam positions signal and a Crank position signal? Does it have a 1G CAS?
6) You say 'it does have compression'. 30 psi is compression. So is 1500 psi. It better not be either one of those. Perhaps you could give us the actual numbers.

I dont know about the compression the guy said that he had it checked and since the engine isn't broken in yet, that it had ok compression numbers but it will be better when it gets broken in.

So do you think if i put a crankshaft sensor in it. That it would start right up? And Tevenor tell me more about the CAS and the crankshaft and camshaft signals

No idea, but if it has "lots of mods" like you say, then it's well worth $3500. If you can't get it running then you can part it out and make your money back. :dsm:

Uhm, when he said to check your grammer he didn't mean throw in capitalized letters and periods in the middle of fragments. He meant to actually right out sensible sentences.
....
Well, why don't you let us know a full list of modifications to the car. Tell us if it has spark and fuel, and possibly the actual compression numbers? We can all go from there.

Chris, do you have any knowledge of these cars, at all? Reason for me asking, can you tell me if all of these are different or the same; CAS, crank position sensor and cam position snesor. Oh yeah, what motor would be better for my skyline; a gallo 12 or a gallo 24?

You guys are real ####ing funny! I dont know alot about dsm's i'm just learnig so get off my nuts about it. You guys are real tough tryin to punk people on their grammer, who gives a shit. Shut the hell up. And for those of you people not being bitches. It has a Apexi fuel and air ratio graph thing, Venom control module, bored turbo, intercooling piping, BOV, K&N intake, 2.4 ltr block, wires, boost gauge, dial in shocks $ coilovers, and I told you I dont know the compression numbers, but he said they arent bad.

Look man, remember, you came on here asking us for help. We can't help you if you don't post anything that makes sense. Saying stupid phrases like "get off my nuts" isn't going to get you respect nor answers around here. This isn't some illiterate dumby board. Matter of fact there are some real respectable tuners that come on here and help us out. They don't want to see garbage like yours. I am not trying to bash you or be cool, I am just trying to get your story straight. What you should of done was come on here and state first, you have no idea about anything to do with these cars. Then 2nd, state you are trying to purchase one with a different motor, its current modifications, and why the car wont start. Is it getting fuel, spark, compression?

As was stated before, we need real numbers for the compression. What about the timing belt? Did it jump teeth? When you say it doesn't start, does it spin? Does it want to start? Does it sound like its making compression?

By the way, a turbo can not be BORED out. Ported, not bored.

Alright see I like you 92 Laser you are the only one who has really made sense here. I wasnt tryin to piss everyone off i was just trying to get help and everyone was raggin on me. The timing belt didnt skip and when you try to start it, it just winds. And it is making compression, I am getting to car today and I hope it will be alright.
