Well it runs, but not very well. It will hold a idle pretty well, but not what it should do. If I go easy on it, and shift around 3000-3500 it will studder, but make it, If I hammer on it a bit, it will stick at a RPM and slowly go down, somtimes even killing it. Some times when I start it it will run fine, and rev fine, other times I starting, it rev's sluggsh, and very jittery, I have replaced the wires, and it has new plugs, but I think they may have gapped them wrong. I think it's supposed to be .023 and they gapped them to .035-.049 the non turbo specs. I don't think thats the reason as I re gapped them and no change.
Now my question is, can the ecu go bad, but not throw a CEL, because I have another ECU sitting right here I may put in, it's not Eprom, but It will work, I have already checked for leaking caps, which I found none. My car does smell funny inside, but not sure it's rotten fish or seafood. Can a ecu go out with only 115,000 miles, and it has sit for at least a year and a half. I did replace the o2, but no real change, One minute I start it up, it runs horrible, the next it runs fine.
Please help any way possible, I would like to go back to posting in the tuning section more
thanks Derek
