OK.... my after market boost guage is reading 20 psi and the stock boost guage looks like its reading about right.... is there a way to test if the guage is accurate or maybe its because my greddy BOV's top screw is loose and not all the way on will that affect boost ...o and 1 more question my engine temp stock guage isnt working where can i look to see if its hooked up right

dude man u got some readin to do.

The boost gauge can hook up to pretty much any pressure side vacuum hose, but consensus seems to stand that the best line to hook it up to is the one that leads from the intake manifold to the fuel pressure regulator.

Your wastegate actuator is teed off from the line that leads from the turbo compressor housing and the boost control solenoid.

That's the best info i can give for now cause im not even sure what you are asking about. In fact, I'm not even sure you know what you are asking about.

I hope what i've said helps though. If it makes you feel any better mine boosts to almost 20psi also if i mash on the gas. I've deduced it to the fact that the previous owner of my car may have decided to do the 'BCS restrictor mod' which of course pretty much destroys all forms of boost control. I know lots of people have had success stories with the mod but it seems 2gs don't like it and i think that may be the case with mine . . . maybe yours too.

Damn, i talk alot.

I would definitely just tap for the boost gauge from the hose that comes from the intake manifold. Try that and see what kind of readings you get. Just cut the hose and place a "T" connector in there. Put the two pieces of the hose you cut on each end and put the hose for the boost gauge on the third. Make sure the hose is on tight and won't leak. I usually just put some tie straps on there just in case.

ahhhh ok that pic thing with the engine helped a wee bit but i need that with a stock eclipse engine!!!!! i need to know where to hook up wastegate acuator without a boost controler!!!!

a vacuum line is a vacuum line. it does not matter what vacuum line you splice into or use, all vacuum lines will read the same pressure. your wategate actuator is the brass looking object with the rod coming out of it on your turbo. it sounds like your actuator is not even hooked up, causing your turbo to run full boogie. on the actuator there is going to be a nipple. hook a vacuum line to this nipple. if you dont have a boost controler why was the vacuum line pulled off the actualtor in the first place? that line has to be somewhere, and if its not hook up to anything boy you got one heck of a vacuum leak. if you have a aftermarket boost gauge it sounds like you want to make the car faster. but before you make it faster, learn about the car first. your aftermarket gauge is prolly right. your stock gauge its even a real boost gauge.

yeah i bought this car from someone and they were torturing it ....it came with the aftermarket boost guage which im gonna prolly hook up to the intake manf ... what vacume line should i hook the wasteguate acuator up to, right now its hooked up to a little nipple on the intake hose its the one facing down ....or do u just mean hook the wastgate acuator nipple with the nipple on the turbo housing????
