is black like tar coming from my brakes?

ok.. i have a 94 talon DL... and only on my front driver side rim does this black sticky like tar stuff get all over my rim... i can scrub it all off.. drive to the end of the road..come back.. and if i use my brakes.. its back on the rim.. anyclue to what it is and whats causing it.. the passenger side is fine.. notta

Yank off the wheel, check the boot on the axle. Probably ripped or torn, that black stuff is cv joint axle grease lubricant impossible to remove thicker than molasses crap. Yeah it's hard to remove, it's for lubing up the axle moving parts. That's what it is I'm betting.
 
Is the stuff greasy? It might be a busted CV boot and the grease is leaking out- get behind the brakes & wheel and look at the rubber boot that connects your axle to the wheel hub. Check it for cracks or leaks - if its busted, it's probably covered with the grease as well. Do you notice any clicking coming from that wheel when you're driving or turning?
