Awww Crap...My Turbos Jacked

well my car kinda smokes so i thought it was just bad rings or something, but today i did a tuneup and when starting it noticed smoke under the hood, so i went and revved it up from the throttle body. and low and behold, my turbo is smoking from the center sectionbetween the oil line and exhaust turbine side, it also was making some kinda noise when i would rev it up that didnt sound too good. im guessing this isnt good but would the bad turbo explain why im smoking at idle from the exhaust. i was kinda hoping that it was this and not the rings

Mine did that before i rebuilt it when my shaft seals were leaking, but only when i'd get on it and shift.... maybe yours is just horribly bad...

what kind of noise? did it whine like a supercharger?

umm if im in neutral and rev it i can hear it spinning up then kind of a light clacking, but not constant

Wait until the car is cold and check for shaftplay, then report back.
