Hey guys.. I don;t own a 7bolt, but I was looking at purchasing a 98 gsx. Then, I heard of the crankwalk problem and started to ask around, research, etc. What I found out was that,of course there is no 100% sure fix for crankwal, but the number one cause is excessive pressure on a certian part at startup ( I want to say its the throw out bearing, but im not fur sure). Anyway, I have read that a good fix for this is to simply unplug the slutch switch so you can start teh car without pressing the clutch. Thus, no excessive pressure during startup. Anyone else heard of this? Or have any thoughts?

that helps prevent the problem but is not a fix - proof would be the automatics that crankwalked

the best fix for the dollar at this point is still to swap a 6 bolt engine into the car

go back and read all the posts that talk or mention crank walk... just cause it can happen wont mean that it always does.... buy the car if it happens it happens..... you dont stop buying tires cause some go flat......
