Just last night i was driving home and had to swerve to avoid a deer and i hit the curb with the passenger side rim the tire is pushed all the way back to wheel well  , i looked at the axle and it wasnt bent, i could see what was bent but i dont know the name of it its some sort of arm. Any ideas?

oh yeah 1g tsi :talon:

Lower control arm. How fast were you going? That would help us determine how much damage was incured. Most likely I can see you needing to replace the lower control arm the ball joint And I would get under it and check the frame out where the control arm attaches. You might need to have the frame shop straighten it but I dought it thats a pretty stout piece of metal. Nice thing about these cars is that if you break it really hard theyre not that difficult to rebiuld. Try looking for a mits wrecking yard around your area. You might get lucky and be able to fix it for cheap then just have it aligned.
good luck!

I was doing about 50 when i hit the curb, thanks for the info, gonna hunt around for some parts ill post back with all the stuff i did damage may help someone in the future

the moral of this story, live in the city, or kill all the deer

don't worry to much about it, i was surprised when my car went in to a curve straight on at 90km/h. the only thing that broke was a control arm on the left side, which sound s to be the same thing that happened to you.
