Hey guys.. I have a 90 laser rs turbo and its fwd. My problem is that i keep breaking passenger side axles. I have brkoen 3 in the past week or so. All have broken in the same place. The knuckle on the inner joint keeps coming apart. I thought that it was the tranny mount, which I know was a problem. The bolt holes weren't the best, so if i was too hard on it, the bolts would pull out, causing the tranny to drop and the axle to break. However, the last axle i broke last night, the bolts were still in the tranny and it was sitting where it was supposed to be. However, the axle still broke in the exact same spot. The previous owner replaced every mount except for the tranny mount, however, the rubber was still in great conditon. The only problem i see with the mount, except for the holes being slightly stripped (fixed now) is that the metal bracket holding the rubber insert has to be slightly shifted forward (or the tranny has to be pried rearward) to line up the bolt holes. It seems as though the motor and tranny assembly is off somewhere.. but i can't tell where. Are there any other ideas??

To me it seems like you pretty much answered your own question. Sounds like your putting to much stress on the axle and its snapping.
