Alright, last week I had some wierd noise coming from the engine. There seemed to be a rattle around the timing belt area. This noise only happened from 1000-2200 rpms. Helpful people on the forums helped diagnois a possible timing belt tensioner or balance shaft problem. So I took it in because I just moved and don't have access to a garage... So it turned out to be the timing belt tensioner. So I got the car back and my clutch has been acting up lately and it finally completely messes up. So the clutch slave is replaced. The clutch still seems to be not perfect.

The hose that connects the resavoir to the first hydraulic unit looks a little wet, and the hose is also looks to long and is bent just a bit. I will try to get a picture of it soon. Any other thoughts on what the clutch problem might be? It was replaced about 18000 miles ago.

So because I don't have a garage this ordeal ended up costing me around 500 bucks...  So get the car back again, and no more noise.

THE NEW PROBLEM
Now it seems like my engine vibrates more... Any ideas? Everything seems to work fine, just it seems a little rougher than before.

Also my car idles bad sometimes. Usually after running for like ten minutes the idle goes up to around 2000-3000 rpms and stay there uncontrollably. If I rev the engine more, they seem to go down just a bit. Any ideas?
I have a video of the car idling, if anyone really wants to help out give me your email address and I will send the video to you.

One more problem, in addition to all these problems... My rear passenger side tire is going flat.. http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/678734/4 Shows some pictures of some unusual tread wear. It looks like something is rubbing, because all my other tires have fairly minimal wear. So this is ending up costing me around 200 bucks for a new tire..

So not a good week for me, I am sure more problems will arise soon. Can't say I really like DSM's anymore... Think I might have to move on, for the sake of not going broke.

Please help if you can, and convince me not to sell my D(amn) S(hitty) M(achine).

The shop probably timed your balance shaft 180 deg off. Take your car back and tell them to make sure it's right. There is a faq here or on vfaq.com if you want to check it yourself or if you want to give them directions to make sure they do it right.

Your clutch probably needs to be bled more. Take a pic of the bent hose for us.

Your tire wear is probably an alignment problem. Get an alignment and it should stop wearing unevenly.
If it's an AWD don't run missmatched tires, it is bad for the drivetrain.

It doesn't sound to me like you have any big problems. If you like the car I would say keep it. Unless the alignment shop tells you your chassis is bent or something.

If you want a super cheap economy car or something big to haul your boat then maybe you should find something else, otherwise don't let a few little bugs get in your way.

Hey thanks for your help, I will check out the balance shaft issue. It is what I was suspecting, should I bring it back to the shop or should I just look at it myself? I will post a picture of the bent hose, as well

Also any ideas about the idle problem? Anyone else had this problem?
Thanks

I would take it back to the mechanic first, mainly because I am a lazy ass and don't wan't to do work they should be responseble for.
If you want to check it for yourself it's not real hard.
Check the vfaq.com for instructions
I think they have a diagnosis path for idle problems too, or maybe it was the dsmtuners tech article.
I have serious idle problems it sits at 300- 400 sometimes and fluctuates as high as 2000
I should probably try to figure it out but like I said, too lazy.

I am going to take it back to them and have them check it out. Can I drive it for a couple days like this? Also, I think that I am going to try and use Seafoam or Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner to try and fix my rough idle. I think that it might be caused by some carbon build up. I will let you know if it helps.
