My car was making a really loud rattle sound after I tried tuning it. Shortly after the engine was back together.

Turns out all the flywheel bolts were really loose and it was moving around. Partly because, in the rush to get the car done, I may have not tightened them to spec.

Onto the quesion....

When I got the crank back from the machine shop this dowel was missing.

I, like a moron, assembled it anyway. So my question is, can I just make sure to torque the bolts down with some locktite, or is that pin really that important (there is the stupid part)? If it is, do you think I can really fix it, or am I screwed.

Thanks.
