I need a little help with my 1995 Eclipse GST. I was driving today and out of no where it backfired at 4500 and produced a tint of blue in the exhaust fumes. So I took it easy on the way home and once I got home I started to try find out what was going on with it and I figured out that it back fires only at 4500 RPM. 4500RPM is all it would rev up to, it would not go any higher or it would back fire. So I called my friend over with his OBD-II diagnostics tool and it came up with five errors (listed below).

#1 P0125 Exsesssive time to enter closed loop fuel control
#2 P0136 O2 sensor circut malfuntion
#3 P0141 O2 Sensor heater malfuntion
#4 P0335 CKP sensor circut malfuntion
#5 P1400 manifold differintial pressure sensor malfuntion

Any ideas or sugestions would be helpfull to find out what is wrong.

is your fuel system upgraded/modded? the blue smoke is from excess gas. you should get an afc of some sort. I recomend the apexi safc 2. It worked wonders for my car.

as for your obd read. it sounds like your sucking not enough air for the fuel pressure to handle. you should double check your seals with your intake system. make sure there is no leaks. your 02 sensor might be shot.

all i have done to the car is intake. it is almost completely stock. ill check over all of the seals for the intake. i have a new o2 sensor but i could not get the old one out. so i ordered an evo III o2 sensor manifold and downpipe just to get that out of my way and im hoping that helps fix the problem.

keep coming with sugestions please.
thanks

my 95 gst is dong the same freakin thing. its so annoying. i ust got my new t4 turbo and everything done up and got it idle ok and everything adn then this shit happens. revs up great until 4K, the BAM backfires and wont rev any higher. its pissing me off. i have a SAFC installed amount other things but as of right now my fuel pump and FPR are stock. i just had my ecu retuned with a stage 3 Keydiver chip for my 550cc's, but i seriously doubt that is causing the backfire.

so what all could it be? i no my o2 sensor is dirty, but thats easy to clean, its not bad, cause its brand new, i dont have any intake leakes (ive checked), and my fuel pressure seems fine. i dont think i would be running too rick or lean, cause the chip is supposed to compensate for my injectors. so im kinda lost right now.

please help us backfireing fools. we need help.

thanks,
chris
