just droped engine and having some trouble

hey ... i just put a 90 4g63t in my 91 tsi... and it has a 92 intake manifold b\c the 90 manifold didnt match the harnesses in the 91 car....but anyways .... we got the engine to start but when u try to give it gas it stals out... what could be the problem... could it be the vacum lines ontop of the manifold ... but i now thoes are for boost gauge and emitions... and im stumped on what it could be ... as u can probibly tell im a little bit of a newbie... but im worken on that....any help is greatly thanked..

Any more info you can give would be helpfull. It could be a gross intake leak, sensor not plugged in, ect...

ummm... well i know that the vacum lines are all wrong... we just kinda put them on with out knowing were they went...i guess im asking if that could make the car stal like that... and one of the hoses gonig to the boost solinoid is off... i have the intake all setup so it has to be a sensor or something stupid like that ... the engine ran fine when it was in a 90 laser.. just the body was f'ed... so i put it in a good car ...

sounds like a vaccuum leak, or timing issue. So yes to the answer of your question.

Go to taboospeedshop.com, and find the emissions diagram. remove all emissions lines that is says to, and that will take some of the complication out of you problem. I don't know if that is what' wrong, but it will narrow it down.
