My back right wheel locked up on me the other day and there was a sweet smelling smoke coming from the bottom of the car around the area of the tranny. I had it towed to a small garage and they said it's either the transfer case or the transmission. They don't handle either of those items so I have to take it somewhere else. I don't want to take it a dealership if it's the transmission, but I'll have to for the recall of the transfer case. Any ideas of what which one it is?

take it to the dealership and tell them what happened, but dont be like oh well i dont know if bla bla bla.... once you tell someone at the dealership that you minus well walk away and leave youre cheque book...
go in there and find out if the recall has been done and tell themyoure transfer case locked up and you almost got into a serious accident etc etc... and have them inspect it.
worst they can say is sorry tranny is ####ed then u can juss tow it home after.. IMO first step is to take it to the dealer..

had it taken off today but won't get looked at till Monday...i have the worst luck with cars!! had the car a week and already let me sit. Garage was almost sure it was the transfer case but could not promise anything. im thinking the same thing, but i just don't know a whole lot :)
