Motor rebuilt, do you have to "reset" sensors?

Like the CAS, TPS? Do some parts have to be defaulted? For those who don't know I've been rebuilding a 90 TSI. I put a new (used but good) turbo in it, 4 layer HG, new pistons/rings on 1g rods. I put new bearings all around except main b/c I left the bottom end in the car. I have ARP in it, 2g exh mani, 2g o2 housing, new gaskets all around, cleaned everything out and had the head 3 angled/decked etc. Before I get ready to start it up I thought someone said something about defaulting the CAS? How do you default/reset and what needs to be defaulted/reset? I didn't see anything on vfaq about resetting or defaulting anything. The battery has been disconnected so the ECU should be ok, what else?

Thanks

ok gotcha, glad I still have all that apart. If the base timing is off and it has to warm up it won't cause any damage having it off (if it is) before I get to set it will it? Is the vfaq.com /engine one for the 1g the best how to that you know of ?
