Ok so as im driving down the road around 25-30mph intown, the temp stays normal, then decides to peg out at the end of the gauge. (So i decide to pull the thermostat and no places were open at the time to buy a new one so i just left it out figuring it would run cooler.) It doesnt seem to over heat a ton though, it just steams, and then i will drop back down to the middle. Then later on i am on the highway speeds around 60mph. The temp gauge stays in the middle for a bit, then it pegs out at the very top again, and then i come to a stop sign and it drops back down to the middle, then right as i accelerate it pegs out again. WTF?!?! So i park it at a friends house because i was about 30 miles from my house. I wait about 35 min at his house and go out to try and start it, and the thing just cranks over doesnt start, it seems like it wants to fire but doesnt not turn over, so my guess is i have a warped head from the heat. Also, everytime the temp gauge pegs, the heat goes ICE cold. The system is topped off with coolant, the waterpump is fairly new, and the radiator is fairly new. today i am going to try a new thermostat. The fans are hotwired, and work. If anyone can help that would be great, I'm about ready to go crazy on this car its just one thing after another... :( thanks -Matt

no ideas???

k well obviously no one has anything to say to try and help me  , so heres what i came up with thinkin about it today on that part where it doesnt start, which could mean it was "heat soaked" ? where the fuel vaporizes before it gets to the rail. or it is so hot that there is somthing that keeps it from starting when so hot?

ok so this happened to me to. the issue with mine was that i was not putting enought coolant in and was putting too much water in. that was my prob, well when u do put coolant in u want to get all of the air bubbles out. so check your resevior. check and see if your thermostat is opening and closing and your fans are going on and off. maybe that would do something good luck

hmm...well last night i was about 20 miles from my house, and never topped off the coolant, so i put almost a gallon of water in...so maybe that is a reason why...by why does the heat from the vents go ice cold when the car is overheating...?

Well U Have To Let The Car Burp Itself Out. When U Put The Coolant In U Should Leave The Cap Off Start The Car And Physically Watch The Thermostat Open And Close. When U Do This Keep The Heat On Full Blast And Let The Fan Go On And Off. Strait Water Won't Work.plus Water Could Rust Things. Always Have The Premix Coolant In There. Hopefully That Will Solve The Problem. Let Me Know How Things Go.
