I noticed that whenever the car (1g Talon TSi) sits at idle and I rev it up I get smoke, it smells like Oil...I don't notice any smoke while I'm driving and the power is still there, although the turbulence behind the car could cause me not to see it, so I'm at a toss up wether its rings or bad turbo possibly. Can someone give me some ideas, things I need to look for. I'm guessing a compression test would pretty much narrow it down eh? And another question, I'm in FL, near pensacola, anyone know of a good shop around here?

run a compression test,if the numbers are fine then either the turbo return line is blocked up,the turbo is coked up or the seals are bad in the turbo.

Probably the valve stem seals. A common problem with mitsubishi's of our generation. Not just eclipses.
That was my problem. Overhauled head, and no smoke!! :thumb:
