TIA for any help.
Car is at the shop right now, mechanic has spent a day or so looking over it, but states he cannot find the problem. I mentioned this place, and he;s requesting I run this by you guys to for quick opinions.
Symptoms - On random days from a cold start, the engine will not start. It spins freely at all times. On the first attempt, it will spin for 15-20 seconds, with no fire (there is spark at the plug.) 2-15 attempts later, it will gradually start to fire, only to stall immediately. Eventually, it will attempt to idle (poorly, about 500rpm), and it will take abosutely no gas at all, if you try, it will stall, and usually stalls after 10 seconds or so anyway. Letting it run this way for a few moments, you can eventually feather the throttle to get the engine over 1200rpm. Once you do that, it will rev fine and behave fine, unless you take your foot off the gas and attempt to let it idle again. Keep it above 1200rpm, and its fine. After it reaches operating temp, it will (usually) idle just fine at 750 or so, occasionally dropping down to 500 at a random stop light. Turning on the AC definately makes the idle rpm drop 250 or so. BTW, there is never any kind of surge OVER the standard RPM. just below or not at all.
I'm definately thinking ISC after reading the FAQs. Any gurus wish to confirm my suspicions?
