Okay I've posted this problem before, many months ago, and I'm reposting it again hoping someone will shine some light on my misfortune.

My 95 GST Eclipse turns itself off on tight turns, right or left, does not matter. If I turn just at the right force, my cd player turns off then back on like nothing happened, and if I turn even harder, it will turn off and stay off and reset itself. If I turn even harder the car will lose all power and speed momentarily as if it bogged down roughly. I know our cars are not designed to do this, because none of my friends eclipses do that.

It's done this ever since I have bought the car. I rewired the fuel pump and it still does it.
Anybody else had this problem or know of any possible causes and answers?
Also I highly doubt crankwalk so dont start spitting that at me :p

Thanks for your help guys. I am going to enter a local autox for my first time and I am hoping this problem will not kill my fun, if so I guess I will have to slow myself down.

+ the only other mod I have added to my car other than whats in my profile is the metal intercooler pipes.

I agree with defiant. Somthing is loose in your electrical and when you turn its getting disconneded or shorting out. go through and make sure everything is secured and not comming in contact with the body.

Bolt down your battery, and put a cover over the positive terminal.

my batt is bolted down by that stock metal piece that goes across the batt. and btw my yellow top died so now I'm using the orig. batt that came with the eclipse. its just some regular batt you can get anywhere. also the pos. terminal is covered with that stock red plastic piece. does that not do the job?

my car does the same thing exept nothing turns off. the engine just stop accelerating.and the rpms drop down to a thousand and only on really tight turns.???

It's an electrical problem. Take off the main grounds and clean the bejesus out of each one you can find and make sure it's tight and clean. I can guarantee that you're dealing with either a corroded/loose ground or you've managed to pinch one of them off somwhere and crack the wire. Judging by the vast scope of the electrical failure I'd say it's one of the major grounds that's giving you the problem.

+1 for electrical. Mine did the exact same thing when i had a wire shorting out on the chassis.

holy dead thread batman. LOL Gotta love waiting 4 years to get a good reply haha.

Yes it could be electrical (especially if battery is not tied down) but it could also be broken gas tank baffles which allow the gas to all go to one side on tight turns. If it occurs with tank 1/4 full but not 100% full this may be it (or broken fuel pump bracket inside tank).

Yea sorry I didn't see this thread the first time around ROFL

By any chance is that what fixed the issue? The poster before mine is having the same problem apparently so any updates on what the actual fix was could be of assistance to him.

This gives me an idea where to check next. I've had stalling problem when I stop at the light after taking a sharp left curb at around 40 mph. It happens only when the tank is below 3/4, but if I push the gas pedal it will not stall.
