My break light seems to have a short in the sensor or cable. The red emergency 'BRAKE' light comes on when I stop the car suddenly and only goes back off if I accelerate moderately (like it is sensing the g-forces). It started of requiring a quick stop, but has developed to the point that it does it on light stops and requires a heavier acceleration to turn it off. Hopefully the cable for the emergency brake is just stretched or something...
Any ideas or does anyone know how to adjust the emergency brake cable (it's been a while since I had the console apart). I use the emergency brake all the time when I park. I don't jerk it up, but I do pull it up kind of fast sometimes when I'm in a hurry. I never pull it too high to where I have to lift it just to push the button. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

. Couldn't find my owners manual since I took it out to have my car looked at (transfer case). Thanks for all the replies guys. This reminds me of a SCC article on the honda check engine light called "Code Breakers." Apparently if you count the number and type (long/short) of blinks in some diagnostic mode, it will tell you what is throwing the CEL.
