Did a comeplte 6 botl swap with head, intake manifold, thorttle body, coil pack.

got the car to start but i have to pump the gas to keep it running. It iwll not idle at all. I was wondering if it is the idle speed contorl. If so where is this located. Also, what about vac. lines. I herd that a leaky vaccum line could cause this, but this is severe. It will start right up but instantly die and wont idel at all.

Also, i read about resetting the ISC?? how do i go about doing this? thanks.

Chris

is your car a seven bolt becasue if so im going to be in the same boat you are in a couple days.

I recently experienced the same problem as you. Here are a few things for you to check out that'll hopefully produce some results for you.

1) Adjust your throttle cable on the manifold to get the car to idle.

2) Check for vacuum leaks by listening and examining (if there is a leak, you may notice your boost guage reading lower levels of boost than it should, and little to no vacuum at idle)

3) Adjust your base idle screw (located on top of throttle body). Allow time for the computer to adjust between each adjustment.

4)IASC (Idle Air Speed Motor). It's worth spending the extra money on this part to get an aftermarket one...I had a bad experience with the lesser priced NAPA one. Your IAC is located in the bottom side of the throttle body.

5) Too much fuel caused by high flow fuel pumps and big injectors with stock fuel regulators can cause bad idling.

About resettnig ISC, I"m not sure what you mean by this....but if you mean the Idle Air Speed Control Motor, try unplugging the battery for at least a couple of minutes and reconnect it. This should reset everything.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

I had a similar problem when I did my 1g swap and it turned out to be a large boost leak by the injectors. When I laid on the gas, more boost made up for the air I was losing through the leak. Just test for leaks I guess while you're checking everything out. Good luck! :thumb:
