Recently everytime I warm my car up, I hear this scraping noise. No idea what it is. My car has low miles and is meticulously maintained. Usually this noise doesn't go away until I start driving and reach 3rd gear. Could it be the drive belt? It squeeks when it's wet out or humid, but this noise is nothing like that.

Where is the noise eminating from? Does it increase in pitch / noise level with engine speed?

couple things that come to mind (which happened to my car) was the dust shield on the front rotors were rubbing the rotor causing "scraping" noises. Also if your parking brake is not fully releasing.. could also be what your hearing.

Thought it was coming from the engine bay. It doesn't increase in pitch with speed. I noticed once that after disengaging my e-brake it went away, but now I still hear it sometimes until I hit 3rd.

are you 100% sure it isnt lifter tick, if not listen to defiant on this one, he diagnoses 10 balancers a day around here I noticed

It's not a ticking sound. I'm pretty sure it's the harmonic balancer. I've been looking for the best instructions I can find on how to remove it. Has anyone done this on an NT that can help me out with questions/instructions?
