manifold was red

ok,i was drivin on the highway until my temp started goin up,and it went beyond the middle,so i pulled over an saw coolent was comin out of the reservoir,i filled water in it,an then aftr 10 mins again temp went up,again the water was thrown out by the reservoir,i refilled the f,,,,,in thing 16 times and in the end wen i pulled over i saw my baby very hot,the manifold to the turbo housing was lava red i rest it for half n hour,then took it to a garage ,the guy took the thermostat out and the cap was with no seals so replaced a new cap,now my car runs fine, i only wanna no why it turned red n wot was makin it hot.did i screwed somthin.

It was red because the exhaust gases on a turbo car will be x TIMES hotter than normal NA cars. Its normal for that to happen especially on a hot day of boosting hard.
