Popup headlights have a mind of their own.

Ok.

When i got my car, the popups did not work. I researched and found out that the big relay in the fusebox that controls them was missing. I went to the junkyard and got a new one.

Now.

Whenever they are down and I turn the lights on, they still stay down. I have to move the light switch from on to off really quick about 4 times, and then the popups will come up. The only thing is that when i turn the lights off, they will stay up. They will not come down at all. I have to manually crank them down. Whenever i disconnect the battery, they will both rise as soon as i connect the battery again, and you guessed it, will not come down.

I checked the motors, and when i send voltage to them, they spin awesome. They feel smooth.

The problem i'm having is that the motor's aren't getting any signal to work when i turn the headlights on. The motors themselves are good. I can pop the hood and reach in the window and turn the headlight switch, but all i hear is a clicking coming from the relay box (normal). Like i said earlier, i have to turn the switch about 4-5 times real quick before the big popup relay clicks and the lights come up.

No, it's Not a mechanical problem, it's an Electrical problem. My assemblies and motors all move like Butter, but i'm not getting any Voltage to the motors.

It may be posibble that you simply have a "bad new juckyard part". You should get a brand new relay if you can and go from there.
